North Yorkshire Dales Tour

Based at at the Ripon Inn on Park Street, in the heart of picturesque North Yorkshire. A horn is blown on the Market Place in Ripon every night to commemorate the time in the Middle Ages when Ripon’s Wakeman was responsible for crime prevention until dawn. Report

North Lakes Tour

Based at the North Lakes Hotel & Spa near Penrith tour participants enjoyed some glorious weather in the Lake District - blue skies, sunshine and calm Autumn air. Lakeland Motor Museum near Newby Bridge, Ravenglass & Eskdale railway and High Force falls. Report

MGV8-50th Events in 2023
A series of events celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the launch of the MGBGTV8 model in August 1973 which included a display on the market place in Abingdon, lunch at the Dog House pub and a major event at British Motor Museum at Gaydon. Report

The Barony Castle Hotel at Eddleston in the Scottish Borders with trips to the Jim Clark Motorsport Museum, the town of Moffat, the Devil's Beeftub and the Samye Ling Tibetan Monastery. Report

Tour of Kent

The tour, postponed because of Covid in 2020, was very popular with Members keen to meet up again after the Covid lockdown restrictions were lifted. They enjoyed Tudur Jones playing the organ at Canterbury Cathedral. Report

Lincolnshire Tour

The Tour followed a route around the Vale of Belvoir, South of Grantham, and then after the customary cakes and coffees, the group went on to the Lincolnshire Aviation History Museum and parked up by a Lancaster. Report

Based at The New Bath Hotel and Spa at Matlock Bath the tour included routes through Derbyshire and Staffordshire Moorlands, with visits to

New Forest Tour

Based at the Forest Park Hotel in Brockenhurst in the New Forest National Park in Hampshire, the tour visited a winery, the famous Buckler's Hard where ships of the line were built and and then on to the Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop. Report

Northern Germany
Tour
Based at the hotel Van der Valk the tour crossed the mighty Rhine river by ferry, had lunch in a brewery and a boat tour of Duisburg harbour. Also over to Holland to visit an extraordinary 'English Garden' inspired by Sissinghurst and an archeological complex with fully rebuilt Roman buildings. Report

Northumberland Tour

Based in the village of Seaton Burn, about 6 miles north of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, the tour visited Cragside, Woodhorn Museum and Hexham Abbey. The routes to and from the venues offered plenty of photo opportunities of stunning scenery and coastline.

Two Day Highland Tour

Based at the Dundonnell Hotel on Little Loch Broom, a tour around Wester Ross and on to Assynt after the EEOY 2013 held at Aviemore. It was part of the events celebrating the 40th anniversary of the launch of the MGBGTV8 model in August 1973 & the 35th of the launch of the V8 Register in 1978.

Pas de Calais Tour

Based at the Hotel Hermitage,
Montreuil sur Mer in France, a visit to a traditional French market, a tour to a scenic area known as the Seven Valleys or the Ternois and also a visit to the west and south of Montreuil reaching the sea at Cote d’Opale. Report

Mid-Wales Tour

Based at the Metropole Hotel in Llandrindod Wells, well known for hosting classic car tours. The V8 Tour visited the Craig Goch Dam in the Elan Valley, a rare sight for the reservoir over flowing following heavy rain.

Based at the Norton Park Hotel at Sutton Scotney, near Winchester, the tour went to see the Crofton Beam Engines on the Kennet Canal, the Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth and Salisbury Cathedral.

Welsh Tour

Based at the Castle of Brecon Hotel on Castle Square in Brecon with two tours of the Brecon hills and interesting sights in the surrounding area. We followed the guidance from the RAC MSA and the Club on observing appropriate foot and mouth disease precautions.
