Final instructions for the V8 Track Day at Castle Combe on Monday 8th September 2008 from Dave Livingstone MGoT

Hello everyone,

Attached is the event guide for our MGCC Register Day at Castle Combe this coming Monday 8th September. It contains all you need to know about the organisation of the day before you arrive. Please read it carefully and check that your booking details are correct, including your helmet hire and instruction if applicable. Please confirm by return email that you have received this guide. Thanks.

PLEASE ARRIVE IN GOOD TIME
Please arrive in good time - sign-on begins at 07:30 and the driver briefing begins at 08:15. At sign-on you will receive an envelope containing a coloured sticker for your car indicating which session you are in. Don’t forget to get your car noise tested, ideally prior to the briefing. This is essential if you are expecting to drive in the 9:00 session.

PRINT OUT THE INDEMNITY AND BRING IT FULLY COMPLETED
Please print out the indemnity in the attached event guide and bring it with you fully completed. This will speed up the sign-on considerably and reduce queuing time for all.

DON'T FORGET YOUR ROAD LICENSE
Please don't forget your full license - both the plastic and paper parts if you have the newer type. All cars must be road legal and conform to current MOT standards.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR SESSION ALLOCATION AND PRE-BOOKED INSTRUCTION OR HELMET HIRE
The guide contains session lists. Please check your session allocation and take note of the timetable. Also check that we have the right pre-bookings for either instruction or helmet hire. The website booking system occasionally gets these wrong and you need to let me know if there is a mistake.

HELMETS ARE PRE-BOOKED
If you need one and haven’t already included it in your booking please email me by return and I'll do what I can to make sure one is available.

THERE ARE A FEW MORE INSTRUCTION SLOTS AVAILABLE
If you are a beginner or have not driven the Castle Combe circuit before and have not booked instruction (£15 per session) I strongly encourage you to do so. We have two experienced ARDS racing drivers

Kai Knickmann (Damask 0945) on the track with his MGBGTV8.

available all day and I am sure they will be able to pass on a lot both in terms of circuit knowledge and improving your driving skills. Just reply to this email and I will fit you in. I always prioritise the instruction schedule to give beginners the earlier time slots.

ANY QUESTIONS?
Please feel free to email me or call me with any questions before the day. If you have any issues during the day, please talk to me or another member of the MGoT committee. Committee members are likely to be wearing an identity necklet and/or MGoT caps with a light coloured brim.

Look forward to seeing you all and hope you have a great day.
