New
Safety Fast! been welcomed by many members!
John Day ( Club director leading the Editorial Subcommittee)
which has recently re-launched Safety Fast! says the new magazine
has been very well received - they have had a great deal of
useful feedback from members and some encouraging support for
their hard work on this worthwhile project. (18.7.07)
John says "I thought you would appreciate an update on
the New Safety Fast! and how it has been received by the membership.
The Editorial Subcommittee met yesterday (17th July) and we
were able to review for the first time the many comments we
have received regarding the new Safety Fast! I am pleased to
report that the Membership like the New Magazine and we have
been delighted (and a trifle embarrassed) by some of the kind
comments. These are just a sample of the comments, modesty prevents
us from passing on any more.
"..well laid out, interesting articles and amazingly
good and timely report on Silverstone." Lincolnshire
Centre.
" I am delighted with the new magazine! It is, for me
the best MG related publication I have read. Long may it continue."
Dave Stewart.
"Please pass my congratulations on to all the team involved,
they certainly lived up to the promises they made at the last
Council meeting." David Reid Caledonian Centre
"Congratulations on the new magazine! Us old farts particularly
like the larger typeface. Keep up the good work!" Mike
Wilson Ulster Centre
During our meeting we also finalised much of the material going
into the August edition. You will perhaps be surprised to learn
that we had difficulty choosing what went in and what had to
be held over for September. The members are responding to the
need for more articles and we find this very encouraging indeed.
Thank you to the V8 Register once again for your support for
the New Safety Fast! it is much appreciated by the Editorial
Committee".

Support
from the V8 Register
The V8 Register underlined its support for the revitalised
Club magazine by taking and paying for a whole page of classified
adverts in the first issue of the New Safety Fast! published
in early July 2007. Our advertisers on the MGV8s and RV8s
for Sale webpages had a useful bonus - a wider coverage for
their adverts than expected! The T Register also provided
classified advertising in the July 2007 issue, so together
we helped provide the essential critical mass of advertising
to get an essential part of a Club magazine - the classifieds
- up and running.
In the August 2007 issue, out in just over two weeks time,
the V8 Register will have a four page V8 Newsletter
and Victor Smith has contributed an article on the little
known early taxing and SORNing provisions hidden away
in the DVLA Leaflet V100.
