V8 Curry Evening - Saturday 10th February 2018 A curry evening has
been an annual tradition since February 1979 when the first V8 Curry evening was
held in Epsom. It was arranged by a V8 Register founder member, Peter Beadle,
then parts manager at the local UM branch. It has continued ever since as an intinerant
event - moving to Putney when arranged by Mike Maude-Roxby, then to Watford, a
number of years at Bourne End near Marlow, several years in Cambridge and now
for five or more years at a very pleasant restaurant
in Knowle near Solihull in the West Midlands. It's held on Saturday evening,
the day before the annual MG Show at Stoneleigh nearby. More

to Packwood House - Thursday 31st May 2018 Visit to the house and
gardens at Packwood. Although Packwood is justifiably famous for its wonderful
tapestries, there are many beautiful items in the collection, ranging from exquisite
painted stained glass dating from the 16th century, to a whole 1930s bathroom
lined with old delft tiles. The Yew Garden at Packwood is considered one of Britains
major topiary gardens and Packwoods most significant feature. The largest
yew trees date from around the 1600s but the garden originally started its life
as an orchard and has evolved into its present appearance over the past 350 years.
