John Fry came across an article from the Observer dated 3rd February 1972 on the Costello MGB which had just launched. The "Wow!" comment was added by my father before he forwarded the clipping to me when I was living in South Africa! 200911 More

The car, registered with the V8 Register on 14th October 2010 as Connaught Green 6042 by a member in Devon, was converted by Costello in 1997. The bidding on eBay closes on 26th September 2011 just before noon. 110922 More

Costello V8 Roadster up for auction
A Costello V8 Roadster, converted in 1980 from a 1975 car, is up for auction by H&H at Haynes Motor Museum on Friday 22nd October 2010. The rubber bumpered car is finished in Connaught Green with black upholstery and is offered for sale by V8 Register member Peter Collis. More

Harvest Gold 5015 has been owned by the present owner since the late 70s. In a brief email the present owner says it has been off the road and garaged for some years but getting it back on the road as a retirement project is no longer possible. He has sought our help saying it is on offer to an enthusiast for refurbishment . The car seems to have been withdrawn from the market. 090615

John Fry in South Africa has spotted a 1972 Costello MGBGTV8 MkII is for sale at Frost Brothers Vintage and Classic Cars in Western Cape. The price is R235,000. The car was restored a few years ago. The spec includes Rover 5-speed gearbox, telescopic shock conversion all round, Factory fitted Webasto sunroof, CarboTech ceramic brake pads, stainless steel exhaust, leather seats and spotlights. 060115 More
