Costello
GTV8 - LHD in France

|
.

This
Costello MGBGTV8 was produced as a LHD car with an automatic transmission
and exported to Canada. |
|
It appeared offered for sale in August 2017. The advert described
the car - "the certificate signed by Ken Costello himself confirms
it was ordered new by a serviceman in Quebec and is the only Costello
V8 to have been supplied in left-hand drive and with a Borg-Warner
T35 three-speed automatic transmission from the Rover P6. Its current
owner discovered the car in Quebec in 2003. It has had four owners
in all and has covered 65,000 miles. Fitted with a strong and powerful
engine, the Costello V8 is utterly transformed. While its performance
is considerably improved, its ride and handling are simply perfect.
Scrupulously maintained, in 2013 the car received a new 3.9-litre
V8 engine and a manual gearbox (the automatic gearbox remains with
the car). Looking through its substantial service history, it can
be seen that the brakes, radiator, cooling system and suspension,
as well as the upholstery and all the seals have all been replaced.
Unable to compete with this official version following
the launch of the Factory MGBGTV8 August in 1973, Ken Costello was
obliged to halt production in 1974, after producing 225 MGB converted
MGBs (190 MGB GTs and 35 MGB roadsters)". 170829
