Goodwood
Revival 2010 report
Fine weather
at Goodwood with sunshine underlined why it's known as Glorious
Goodwood. The northerly wind was cool on Friday but dropped
on Saturday so the warm sunshine encouraged the ladies to turn
out in a wonderful selection of summer dresses and outfits.
The Jaguar E2A driven by Tony Dron in the final event - the
Sussex Trophy - on Sunday was an interesting sight but he had
to drop into the pits with a car problem. Ron Gammons was driving
his immaculate Devin in the event finishing 14th in a very competitive
race with some very powerful sportscars in action.

Scenes
from the Goodwood Revival 2010
Thursday is a relatively quiet day as the competitors'
teams and vehicles arrive, with the traditional
cricket match in the afternoon just below Goodwood
House. A steam powered threshing machine in action
near St Mary's corner on the far side of the circuit
reproduced a scene from the 1950s and 60s.

Fashion
scene at the Goodwood Revival 2010
Saturday is Ladies Day when thrilling frocks and
outfits compete amidst the roar of engines and the
excitement of the race! Each year a privileged few
are selected for the much sought after title of
'Best Dressed Lady'. The fashions are from the early
and mid 1960s. With the cool northerly wind the
furs were welcome too. The black and white chequerboard
leather mini skirt and jacket at lunchtime were
very much a 1960s' style. The fuel pump attendants
were well able to make you forget the high price
of fuel in the UK! More

Flying
displays at the Goodwood Revival 2010
WW2 aircraft are a feature of the Goodwood Revival
with displays during each day. The Lancaster of
the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight arrived mid
afternoon on Saturday and Sunday with a Hawker Hurricane
and Supermarine Spitfire alongside. Earlier displays
by the Mustang "Ferocious Freddie" were
wonderful. More |
