Bidding process
The bidding process will be held over five consecutive days. All bids shall be posted as an entry on the V8 Bulletin Board which can be accessed via the V8 Website ("V8 Bulletin Board"). The start date and time for bids ("Starting Date") will be announced as a news item in the NEWS panel on the V8 Website homepage. That announcement will state the Starting Date and time and the closing date and time for bids ("Closing Date"), and visitors to the V8 Website will be invited to submit their bid(s) for the purchase of any of the Lots advertised on the V8 Online Auction "Welcome" page (see the green & red link in the top righthand corner of this page). All bids will be subject to the terms and conditions of this V8 Online Auction set out below.

All bids must be posted on the V8 Bulletin Board and the bidder ("Bidder") shall in each bid state the:

Further bidding. Any Bidder may, on seeing another bid posted on the V8 Bulletin Board at a higher figure than his/her bid, submit a further bid or bids at any time up to the Closing Date and time for bids.

Adjudication of bids. Following the Closing Date and time for bids, the top three bids for each Lot will be announced on the V8 Bulletin Board and the registration details submitted by those bidders will be passed by the V8 Webmaster to the member offering the Lots for sale by auction (the "Vendor") so he/she can contact the successful Bidder to make arrangements for the completion of the sale and delivery or collection of the goods. Note all bids shall be exclusive of delivery costs, insurances, taxes or any other cost associated with the delivery of the item to the successful Bidder. The final arrangements for the sale of any item, including any payment terms, shall be at the sole discretion of the Vendor.

Terms & conditions
The price bid shall not include carriage or freight. The Bidder will be responsible for arranging collection and/or all carriage, freight and insurances and for the payment of those costs unless otherwise agreed with the Vendor. The Vendor will not add VAT to the bid price as the sale is not liable to VAT.

Force Majeure
Sadly we are aware that spammers and other miserable individuals are seeking ways of interfering with websites like ours, so should the operation of the V8 Online Auction be disrupted by any activities of those people, the V8 Online Auction may need to be suspended. In that case the V8 Webmaster and/or the Vendor will endeavour to contact Bidders by telephone or directly by email so that suitable arrangements may be made to continue the auction. We have specifically not asked Bidders to post email addresses on the V8 Bulletin Board or other registration information because we are aware spammers and their associates scavenge websites for email addresses and thereafter plague you with offensive and unwanted spam emails, many of which have virus infected attachments.

The V8 Webmaster, the V8 Register and the members of the V8 Register committee, the MG Car Club and its directors and officers cannot accept any liability or claim in connection with or arising from the conduct or outcome of any nature relating to or connected with any business conducted by any Vendor or Bidder for any item or items forming part of any Lot or Lots advertised as part of any V8 Online Auction. The V8 Online Auction is simply an advertising medium whereby parties wishing to buy and sell items of interest to V8 enthusiasts can make contact and agree terms for the purchase of goods forming the subject of a V8 Online Auction.
