Identifying original sealed beam
headlights
Peter Beadle (with his detailed knowledge of MGBGTV8 parts)
has provided these details so members will be able to identify
the sealed beam headlamp units originally fitted to MGBGTV8s.
His notes were a response to a photo of a low mileage MGBGTV8
which featured in a Pricewatch news item where Peter could see
a mixture of original sealed beam and Halogen upgrade headlamp
units were on that car.

What did the photo reveal?
Peter Beadle could see that both of the headlamps have been
replaced and are now not a matched pair. The LH headlamp has
an "H" in the centre of the glass signifying
Halogen, a Lucas Aftermarket product. The RH headlamp has a
window in the reflector signifying that it is of the type fitted
to later rubber bumpered models with sidelights built into the
headlamps.
