Why
I hate the MG RV8 - a critical review by Al Clements who
described the RV8 as a "dogs dinner". This article
is from the Autocar's "Back Page" series. Many RV8
enthusiasts felt the article was an extraordinary example
of cheap "bar room prattle". Autocar

Rover's
RV8 added Nineties engineering to the MGB's style.
Take all the benefits of MGB ownership, remove the tin worm
and reliability woes then add some extra oomph and refinement.
If ever there was a best-of-both-worlds classic, the MG RV8
is it. Car featured K 12 MGR. |

MGRV8
& TVR Griffith - head to head
Headlined the "battle of the Brit V8s - which is best?"
was laughable as anyone with even a modest knowledge of the
two cars would note they were self evidently so different
as the article finally conceded -"even the shortest
test answers that with an emphatic "yes" - they
fall into two distinctive camps - the MG is a smooth and traditional
cruiser, while the TVR an out-and-out sportscar". |
