MGV8-50 event in 2023
A major event celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the launch of the MGBGTV8 model is planned for Sunday 20th August 2023 at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon with a dedicated parking area alongside the museum building and a dedicated room within the building with several presentations on both the MGBGTV8 and RV8 models. Julian Holmes has volunteered to lead the planning and arranging of this event and further details will be available later this year. This early news of this major event will help Overseas V8 members plan their visit to the UK for this MGV8-50 anniversary event.

In 2023 we will have the 50th anniversary of the launch of the MGBGTV8 model in August 1973 and the 45th anniversary of the formation of the V8 Register five years later in 1978. We will also have the 30th anniversary of the start of RV8 production in 1993. More

A display of MGV8s is being arranged on the Market Place in the busy centre of Abingdon on Saturday morning 19th August 2023.

The Dog House pub is a welcome sight on the north side on the Factory V8 Test Route just west of Abingdon. There is a large car park opposite the Dog House.

Mercure Warwickshire Walton Hall Hotel

A convenient overnight stop for V8 enthusiasts planning to go to the MGV8-50 event at the Btitish Motor Museum the following day is the Mercure Hotel just west of Gaydon. Contact Ralph Hardwick if you would like to stay there and meet up.
