Homer's RV8 was on display in the Club's Main Marquee - it's in the rare Flame
Red colour. | A
heatwave struck England at the weekend so the event was tropical. With hardly
any breeze, unless you were up in the grandstands in the shade watching the motor
racing when a light cool breeze could be enjoyed.
At the V8 Marquee many
MGV8 enthusiasts dropped in for refreshment and to sit and chat with fellow members
and friends. We had the Vintage Register in our marquee this year and David Halliday's
MGBGTV8 on display in what is now increasingly seen as the colour of the mid 70s
- yes Citron Yellow for so long derided as "puke green".
Vitesse
had a stand near the V8 Marquee with a display of their replacement Mazda
5 speed gearbox mounted on a V8 engine. They were a most helpful team. |
