Richard Withington reports "some 51 members and friends joined together at the Holiday Inn Seaton Burn on Friday 19th September for this year's V8 Tour. No less than 12 RV8s and 9 BGTV8s plus a ZT, MGC, TD and V8 conversion were seen in the car park by Friday night. Entrants came from all parts of the country plus France and Germany. Many reported tortuous travel conditions due to bad weather and road works as they arrived, but fortunately the weather improved on the Saturday. On Saturday we had views of the stunning countryside were enjoyed en route to Cragside, via Northumberlandia and Otterburn. The evening was closed with North Country musical entertainment.

The second day involved travel northwards to Craster, followed by coastal views terminating at Woodhorn Colliery Museum and Archives.

The V8 Tour closed on Monday 22nd with a guided tour of Hexham Abbey.

Much of the travel was with 'roof down' for those able to take advantage of the sunshine and fresh Northumberland air. There was a great sense of camaraderie and the event was enjoyed by regulars and new comers alike".
