Budget on Monday 29th October 2018 Chancellor Philip Hammond announced
on 26th September that the Budget will take place on Monday 29th October 2018
when he is due to present his next Budget statement to the House of Commons setting
out the Government's plan to build a stronger, more prosperous economy and building
on the recent Spring Budget Statement 2018 and the Budget 2017.
What
could we see of interest to classic car enthusiasts? There
may be yet more changes to stamp duty with increases for non UK based buyers of
properties in the UK and possibly an end to the fuel duty freeze - see our recent
news item on concerns over fuel duty increases. More
Holding the budget statement
on a Monday is unusual but it is expected to start at 12.30pm and as usual we
will have a prompt report on the statement and the measures announced of interest
to classic motoring enthusiasts posted here within an hour or so of the Chancellor
sitting down in the House of Commons.
