Budget on Wednesday 22nd November 2017 Chancellor Philip Hammond
is due to present his next Budget statement to the House of Commons on Wednesday
22nd November 2017. It's likely his statement will focus on measures that would
boost Britain's roads and railways together with measures to help build more houses.
Possibly there may be yet more changes to stamp duty and possibly fuel and insurance
taxes.
What
could we see of interest to classic car enthusiasts? Well in previous Budgets
we have seen measures to crack down on whiplash claims and other scams
involving fraudulent claims. Press reports earlier this year suggested motor
insurance premiums might rise because a change in the way compensation is calculated
and we have heard this may be the case. Will the welcome fuel duty freeze
seen for well over four years continue? See our NEWS item on premium increases.

The
statement is expected to start at 12.30pm following Prime Minister's Questions.
As usual we will have a prompt report on the statement and the measures announced
of interest to classic motoring enthusiasts posted here within an hour or so of
the Chancellor sitting down in the House of Commons.
