Bumper
crowds at the ACA auction
Classic Car Weekly reports there was a "draw-dropping number
of punters" at the auction at King's Lynn on Saturday 25th
February 2019. Low mileage entries and keenly priced modern
classics were the "pull". The CCW report says "Anglia
Car Auction's sales are often seen as a market barometer and,
with a seriously large crowd in attendance, the late
2019 slow-down was (in King's Lynn at least) replaced by an
upbeat, positive, let's-get-on-with-it air". With 82% of
the cars on offer sold and a claimed attendance of 25,000, bidding
was brisk. With 181 cars selling for over £1.8m on sale
day before any post-sale deals that was an average of £10,145
including the 6% buyer's premium.
Our prompt report on the two MGV8s (above) included as lots
in the auction, shows they went for a little more than the average
price on the day: the MGBGTV8 for £16,748 and the RV8
for £15.264. Those reports illustrate the impact of buyer
and seller fees and VAT thereon - just look at the final price
the buyers paid and the net proceeds the sellers received. |
