That was the case with this car in November 2019, see below. The vendor says they "purchased this car from a personal friend, also an MG collector, who kept this RV8 in his collection for many years". On checking the MOT test reports on the GOV.UK website it's clear the car has had very little use - since 2006 to October 2019 the car has covered only 2,234 miles, an average of 319 miles pa. The car has not been registered with the V8 Register's database. 191214 More Recent reports of RV8s at auction RV8 sells at Barons Annual auction on 10th December 2019 The RV8 was a Japanese spec reimport with a total of 14,214 miles and a guide price of £17,000 to £22,000. Examining the car beforehand the interior was reasonable and the engine bay was not as clean as you would expect for a car described as a "car in overall excellent condition". So it is likely it was midway between Conditions 1 and 2. Bidding opened at a modest £10,000 and moved up in increments of £1,000 to £13,000 when it changed down a gear to £500 increments eventually reaching a hammer price of £16,500. Including commission and VAT the buyer would have paid £18,480 .
