V8
Website hits up again in January 2005
The surge in hits on the V8 Website has continued in January with
a 16.8% rise to 4,826 hits compared with 4,131 in December 2004.
Over the final week of the month, the pro rata 31 day hit rate was
well over 5,000 so it is clear the surge is continuing. (31.1.05)

Chart covers the period from January 2003 to January 2005 - it
shows the clear trend of increasing hits. The green line is the
trend line, the red the moving average and the blue the monthly
hits.

Compared with January 2004, the monthly hits for January 2005
are up by 63.5%.
Hourly hit rates (averaged over the year)

Lunchtime (UK time) is the peak time for members hitting the
V8 Website - about 12% of daily hits are over that two hour period
- with a slight surge for two hours in the late afternoon (10%),
presumably when members are seeking a little light relief over a
cup of tea or coffee - and then a similar hourly hit rate (5% to
6%) from 8.00pm to 11.00pm. The peak hit rate at lunchtime is around
one hit every 5 to 6 minutes or so. The hits between midnight and
2am are hits from overseas members, mainly in the Far East, Australia
and New Zealand.
The times in the table above are UK time.

Daily hits during
January 2005
Daily
hit rates (averaged over the year)
Mondays and Tuesdays are clearly marginally more popular and
Friday less so as members tend to be engaged on other activities
in the evening. On Tuesday 11th January we saw a peak daily hit
rate of 202.
New
registrations up 26.3% in January 2005
With 24 registrations in January 2005 (up 26.3% on 2004) and a total
of 321 in 2004 (up 15.5% on 2003), the V8 Register continues to
grow strongly. Our claim to be the leading group for V8 enthusiasts
is well founded. Many of the new registrations are new members,
particularly with RV8s where the specialist RV8 reimporters encourage
their customers to join the V8 Register and the MG Car Club. Jean
Bryce and Gill Watson at Club Office do a wonderful job in chasing
the new registrations who are not already Club members, by sending
them New Member Packs.
