Classics on the Common

The annual "Classics on the Common" event held on the Common in the centre of Harpenden in Hertfordshire is a very popular meeting for a wide range of classic car enthusiasts. It's unusual in that it held on a mid-week Summer's evening but enthusiasts come from far and wide to be there. The success of this meeting has grown so much over recent years that the organisers have had to introduce pre-registration arrangements this year to control numbers. So instead of the the tradition of simply rolling up on the night, enthusiasts will now have to register first as there is a limit on entries this year.

The event won the Classics and Sports Car magazine's "Event of the Year" award and is usually heavily featured in its columns. The V8 Register's Events Coordinator, Keith Rowson, says "I cannot recommend it enough and will be organising a V8 Register group, although you should register yourself with the event organisers". Keith adds that he "will be coordinating the attendance by V8 enthusiasts and is planning to meet up with fellow V8 enthusiasts some 10 miles outside Harpenden so we have a run to the event together".

The entry fee is only £2.00 all of which goes to charity
