RV8
owners in the Bristol area
An elderly
gentleman and longstanding MG enthusiast has been in touch saying
he has not seen an RV8 and would very much like to do so. If any
member with an RV8 in Avon, Gloucestershire, Somerset or Wiltshire
would be able to arrange with Gordon Stamford-McBride to drop by,
I am sure it would make his day to see an RV8. (14.9.04)

V8 Register
- MG Car Club
Hi - I am very old
now! I recently traced the TC I used own in the 1960s to America;
it is in superb condition and I've exchanged notes with
its owner who bought it 24 years ago and shipped it to the States.
I retain a fondness for the marque and was unnerved to see an MG type
recently that I did not know - RV8 of course - (and I thought I was
well up on motor cars!). It is a very good looking car and I wonder
if there is anyone in Bristol who is on the V8 Register, who might
take pity on an ancient enthusiast and get in touch with me so that
I could be introduced to one of these super cars. I live in South
Bristol and my telephone number is 0117 985 0745. I'd
be very pleased to chat to them. My first car, acquired in 1955, was
a 1932 Austin 7, then the 1947 TC, a 1959 Alvis TD21 saloon and finally
a 1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow which became re-owned in 1995 after
an association of 8 years. So I do have some V8 experience! With kind
regards and apologies for being a pest - best wishes to the Club -
Graham Stanford-McBride. |
