RPI
Engineering and RovacomLite have launched a new vehicle diagnostic
system
Chris Hunt Cooke reports RPI Engineering and RovacomLite have launched
a new diagnostic system which is truly affordable for RV8 enthusiasts.
The innovative system allows you to diagnose the on board electronic
control unit or ECU on an RV8 or V8 conversion with an engine management
system fitted. It has been designed with two key features for owner-enthusiasts
- it is easy to use and very affordable, typically
costing less than 10% of the price of other vehicle diagnostic systems
like Testbook.

The promotional material on the RPI website says "RovacomLite
is an all brand new, PC based diagnostic system which ultilises
fantastic new concepts to push the boundaries of diagnostic equipment
technology to new levels. It is designed specifically to be high
on functionality yet easily affordable by individual owners, enthusiats'
clubs and DIY home mechanics. It will shape the future of vehicle
diagnostic systems forever" Wow!
But
how affordable is this diagnotic kit?
Well it seems the kit for an RV8, with vehicle server, vehicle communications
interface, leads, clips and discs, is likely to be around £500
excluding VAT. We hope to have clarification of the price and more
information from RPI in the next week.
