Success
in catching uninsured drivers is improving as a result
of smart Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology
used by the police, combined with information from the
Motor Insurance Database (MID) which is the only central
record of all insured vehicles in the UK. If your vehicle
isn't on the MID, the police can stop you.
