This
Factory MGBGTV8 (Damask 0195) is offered for sale
on eBay in California. The advert indicates that
In the early 1980s, an American MG enthusiast working
in England came across the car and decided to import
the car into the United States through the Port
of Portland in Oregon. |
| The
car was certified by the Department of Transportation
that it met 1973 Federal safety standards and was
subsequently registered in the State of Washington
until the spring of 2007. While in Washington the
car enjoyed extensive restoration to the body shell
including new sills, front and rear fender arches
and replacement doors. This restoration work took
place sometime in the early 1990s and was carried
out in the Seattle area. Also at this time, the
gearbox and clutch were rebuilt. Since taking ownership
in 2007, the current owner has turned the car into
a daily, reliable driver. Other than a full body
respray, which was required to address the effects
of time, the fitting of castor wedges and Spax rear
shock absorbers, the car is as original as when
it left the factory in Abingdon. Present mileage
115,000. |
