thread of the three bolts on the MGBGTV8 fan thermostat or Otter switch?
Just occasionally
you need to replace the Otter switch on the top of the V8 engine which controls
the operation of the cooling fans. Ian Ailes wanted to know where to get some
replacements for the three fixing bolts or setscrews. The answer arrived overnight!

"do you know the thread of the three bolts on the MGBGTV8 fan thermostat
or Otter switch?" Well the natural person to contact was Peter Beadle, formerly
parts manager with University Motors, then for many years with Moss Europe and
now with ARB, a specialist company supplying fasteners and fixings to suppliers
in the classic car industry. Peter responded overnight saying "the cooling
fans' Otter switch has HT Hex Setscrew on the MGBGTV8, OE Part No 257064(A) and
is 10-24 UNC". | | |
