Many V8 members have enjoyed the successful tours in the Scottish Highlands put on by the Club's Caledonian Centre and know how well those events have been run. The scenery is wonderful and the roads are ideal for quiet touring in a classic sportscar. Well now V8 enthusiast Robert McGillivray has been in touch to say the Centre intends making a proposal to the Club's European Committee meeting at Kimber House in October 2010 that their centre should host the main European Event of the Year, probably in 2013. The EEOY has never been held in Scotland and it is many years since it was held in England.

David Reid, Willy Scott, Jim Henderson and Robert McGillivray have the responsibility of putting this proposal together for Caledonian Centre with the idea so far of making it a four night, five day event based possibly in Aviemore or Stirling with around 250 cars. As part of the proposal they would like to include letters of support from people who have taken part in previous Caledonian Centre three day tours.
Robert and the Caledonian Centre team would appreciate support for their proposal from the V8 members. Naturally the V8 Register is sending a letter of support but fellow members are very welcome to send their own letters of support or alternatively we have a convenient online form where you can record your support for their proposal.
