Classic Car Mart magazine has a feature article on the RV8 with "RV8 - last of the proper MGs?" on their front cover. The article has the title "The last hurrah for the MG brand or the start of a new era? The RV8 is the MGB at its most sophisticated."

The article starts in a breezy way saying "there’s no arguing with the status of the MGB as Britain’s favourite classic but if you like the style of the B but it just seems a touch mundane in standard four-cylinder flavour then the RV8 is the answer. Either the last gasp of the traditional MG sports car or the dawning of
a brave new era depending on your point of view, the RV8 offers much improved practicality over the B as a daily driver. It also comes with the bonus of a hefty dose of extra power thanks to its use of the long-serving Rover V8. The RV8 also makes a good case for itself if you fancy building your own V8-powered MGB but don’t fancy putting in all the work to restore an MGB bodyshell and then destroying its originality. The factory V8 was of course offered only in GT form so the RV8 is also the only way of buying a factory-produced V8 roadster." Article
