Revival
back with a roar
"The
Revival is just the most enjoyable motorsports event - it's
something you really want to go to." - that is how former
Top Gear presenter Sue Barker explained its attraction to a
local newspaper. She added "there's just something about
it that gets right to the heart of anyone who cares about motoring."

The
Goodwood Revival is a magical mix of motor race
meeting and garden party, all set in a period running
up to the closure of the circuit in 1966. So the
element of nostalgia is an attraction both for people
who remember that period but also for many younger
people. The concept of the event is a recreation
of motor racing and the social scene from that period
- it's so seductive but there's real action on the
track as the cars and motorbikes compete as though
it were 1966. It's no parade! The extraordinary
attention to period detail from Lord March and his
team is subtle but thorough. Those attending respond
by dressing in various styles in sympathy with the
period. |
