An opportunity to hear the inside story of one of the great challenges and meet Andy Green, the current land speed record holder with Thrust SSC.
The talk will be held at Abingdon School in their Amey Theatre on Thursday 7th October 2010 meeting at 6.30pm for a prompt start of the talk at 7.30pm.

This is one of the great British engineering projects of this new century; it is a serious attempt to break the 1000mph barrier on land. The project has the additional objective to inspire the next generation of engineers while keeping the record in Britain. The project is now beginning to pick up momentum as major sponsors come on board. Andy will enthral the audience with tales of record breaking attempts, he also holds the World Land Speed Record for diesel driven cars, and will tell his audience about Bloodhound SSC and the technical challenges to be faced.

The event is organised by the MGB Register - the MG Car Club and tickets are available from online through the Club website at www.mgcc.co.uk or by mail order from Roger Cooper using the application form you can download using the link alongside. The tickets are £8.00 per person or at a discount rate of £7.00 a head if you buy a block of ten tickets.
