Peter Teager has reported he has "discovered a crack in both steering rack mounts. They are visible to the naked eye and did not need any special crack detection. These have developed since I last checked. My car is a 1973 Factory, chrome bumper MGBGTV8 (Green 0207). I dare not drive the car now, and will consider how best to deal with it. I have seen V8 Workshop Notes 338 & 339, but B&G are a long way to have to trailer the car."
Peter's options are find a local garage with the skills and capabilities to do the reinforcing gusset or get B&G to pop down and take the car back to Baldock for the work. Driving it is not an option!
