Metal obstruction found in a V8 manifold

Metal obstruction in the manifold discovered by Ian Ailes - it's about the size of a half pence coin. (Photo: Ian Ailes)

At a recent meeting of the Fairmile Natter near Cobham in Surrey (the former Talbot Natter at Ripley), Ian Ailes (Glacier White 1561) from Surrey referred to the recent V8NOTE374 from Bill McCullough on V8 cooling and then produced an astonishing photograph. He explained that when he was refurbishing his V8 and had the manifold off, he discovered a blockage in one of the cooling water passageways. The obstruction (see left) looks like a half pence coin. Quite extraordinary!

Ian comments the "car seems to be running cooler - but I have fitted an uprated radiator!"

Ian wondered if any other member had seen a similar object in the water passageway of their manifold on an MGBGTV8? (2.4.08)
