Get her to the church on time!
Granville Healey (Woodcote Green 1417) from Cornwall drove his daughter to the church for her wedding in his RV8, known as "Harvey".

I had been thinking of selling Harvey through lack of use (less than 10,000 miles), when my daughter requested we use him as her wedding car on 10th June 2006. We all tried to persuade her about the practicalities, the drive from our Looe house to Boconnoc being some 12 miles but, as usual, Jane dug in.

It actually worked quite well. Flowers behind the seat, shoe horned the bride in to the car, waved to the onlookers and away, but running late. Only 50 yards and a crowd in road. By chance the guests from another wedding had just poured from the local church. They see Harvey, add 2+2, and get . . and a huge cheer went up, lots of waves and Harvey sounded his horn amidst cries of ‘good luck’.
Another 50 yards and a pit stop to put the hood up. Got to preserve the bride’s hair. That aircon proved really useful on a hot day. We were now very late but could not rush because of the ribbons. Climbed out of Looe, on to the B road leading to Boconnoc and made steady progress - until we met the queue behind the tractor. Progress down to 15mph, no chance of overtaking on Cornish lanes and no sign of the farmer turning off. Eventually he did but only when we were unacceptably late. A quick discussion and a decision. Foot down, shame about the ribbons.

The picture shows our arrival at the church with rather sad ribbons after another pit stop to put the hood down. It was a great day and Harvey revelled in his role and with all the attention he received.
