Thanks for registering as a Bidder for the V8 Online Auction of this item. Your Personal Bidding Code, which you will need to quote when posting a message on the Auction: V8 exhaust manifold thread on the V8 Bulletin Board, is set out below. You will see that it is a code that changes each day you make a bid so you will need to calculate the code each time you wish to post a bid, but I hope the necessary calculation will not be too onerous. The code is necessary to ensure that only valid bids from people who have provided contact details are accepted on the V8 Bulletin Board thread.
So please print off a copy of this webpage now and keep it for reference.

Working out Your Personal Bidding Code
Your code is calculated as follows:

Start with your telephone number.
Take the last five numbers and then delete the final number so you then have four numbers.
Add arithmetically a number which is the date upon which you intend posting your bid and multiply it by 8.
Insert your MG Car Club membership number (excluding any letters) ahead of the result.
Use the resulting code when posting your bid or bids on that day.
For a bid on a subsequent day you will need to derive a new code.

Example assuming:
> Your telephone number is 0208 392 9434
> The date when you post your bid is the 6th
> Your MG Car Club membership number is 28888

Take the last five numbersof your telephone number = 29434 and then delete the final number = 2943
Add the date times 8 = 6 times 8 = 48 plus 2943 = 2991
Then insert your MG Car Club membership number ahead of the result so your code for the bid would be:
288882991

Important: in preparing your V8 Bulletin Board message with your bid please enter in the "Email" field the email address you provided on the Bid Registration Form and when calculating the code please use the telephone number provided on that registration form.

Reserve price for the item to be auctioned is £150.

Now I know this is not a perfect online auction system but it is as simple as we can devise within our modest means. When composing your V8 Bulletin Board message with your bid, please use the same email address each time as this will provide the V8 Webmaster with an additional check that a repeat bid by you on the same day is in fact made by you.
