Bruce
Morgan, South West Centre of the MG Car Club, is running another of
their annual sprint meetings at Colherne in 2010 and has reported
there has been a regulations change from the RAC Motor Sports Association
(the body governing UK motor sport) which affects entrants with MG
V8 Roadsters. For 2010 the MSA has announced it will allocate V8 Roadsters
to the Sports Libre Class which will mean V8 Roadsters will be in
a class with Clubmans cars like Lotus Super Sevens and the like. Previously
the V8 Roadsters were in the Roadgoing Class where Factory MGBGTV8s
will still be allocated. So clearly most V8 Roadster members will
be struggling to make competitive times in that class.
It seems the
MSA may reconsider their allocation if we can show that more than
20 V8 Roadsters were produced in a year, that is converted to V8 power.
So this survey seeks the help of fellow members with a V8 Roadster
- we need the date (month and year will be sufficient) when your V8
Roadster was converted so hopefully we will be able to provide a report
to Bruce Morgan that more than 20 V8 Roadsters were converted in a
year at some stage. If you have a V8 Roadster, please take just a
few moments to let us have that key data for our survey. (22.1.10)
