published in Safety Fast!

This month we have a reminder of the V8 25th Anniversary 2003 with its highlight on a week of events starting on Sunday 15th June, news of the V8 Cornish Tour in October later this year, confirmation that the new Omnibus V8 Workshop Notes CD is available, and a reminder that the next V8 Gathering at the Shoulder of Mutton on Hazeley Heath is on Sunday 18th May at noon.

The V8 25th Anniversary 2003 Week of events runs from Sunday 15th June through to the International MG Meeting at Silverstone over the long weekend from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd June. Full details of the programme of events are in the four page V8 Newsletter in the April issue of Safety Fast! and on the V8 Website at www.v8register.net including applications forms for each event and for a V8 Pass. The V8 Pass Holders are listed on the V8 Website.

In the Autumn there is the V8 Cornish Tour over the long weekend from Friday 3rd to Monday 6th October 2003. The V8 Tours have been a very popular event over the years and this year the base hotel is in Falmouth. The organiser Gordon Hesketh-Jones has already seen a stream of advance bookings. Full details of the programme of events, information on the hotel, costs and booking forms are on the V8 Website. Members without internet facilities can contact Gordon for an information pack on 01736 763053. His email address is at manningford@btinternet.com for any queries.

The Omnibus V8 Workshop Notes CD is now available and includes the whole series of eight volumes, including the early
CD, all in Word and PDF formats. The CDs are available for £25.00 (UK) and £30.00 (overseas) sent by first class post or airmail - all cheques payable to "V8 Register - MG Car Club" volumes originally printed as spiral bound A5 books. A copy of the current working draft of Volume 8 is included on the CD. Orders to Victor Smith. There is a significant discount for members who have previously purchased the later notes on CD - see the V8 Website for details or contact Victor Smith. Copies of the RV8 Workshop Notes CD with six volumes are available at £20.00 (UK) and £25.00 (overseas), again in Word and PDF formats and a discount for update discs. An updated Contents list is maintained on the V8 Website so you can download a copy.

Finally a reminder of the next V8 Gathering at the Shoulder of Mutton on Hazeley Heath just north of Hook in Hampshire is on Sunday 18th May at noon. Steve Thorning and Bryan Ditchman will be there to greet you.
