The V8 Register 25th Anniversary Year 2003 is underway and
full details are available on the V8 website - just click the Rolling
V8 Calendar link at www.v8register.net for the date and
location of each event, and contact details.
The focus of the V8 25th Anniversary celebrations is on a
programme of events in the week before the Club's annual International
MG Weekend meeting at Silverstone (Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd June
2003) starting with a talk by David Bishop and John Yea on the "RV8
- concept, development and production of a modern classic"
on Sunday 15th June 2003. On Friday 20th June there is a V8 Dinner
at the BRDC Suite at Silverstone - details and booking information
for this popular event will be in the V8 Column next month and on
the V8 website. With this advance notice we very much hope we shall
see many of our overseas friends. For members without access to
the web, just call, fax (0208 392 9673) or write to Victor Smith
for a copy of the Rolling V8 Calendar.
The first event in 2003 is the annual V8 Curry Evening on
Saturday 15th February at the Moghal Tandoori in Beaconsfield in
Buckinghamshire. Full details of the location with route maps are
on the V8 website - see the link on the Rolling V8 Calendar. For
bookings or further information contact Peter Beadle at arb.parts@btinternet.com
or on 01452 412844.
The fifth volume of the RV8 Workshop Notes series was completed
at Note 160 and the series has already several notes in the working
draft of Volume 6. An updated set of the volumes, including a copy
of the working draft, is available on CD for £20.00 (UK) and
£25.00 (overseas) - all cheques payable to "V8 Register
- MG Car Club" and sent to Victor Smith. For members who have
previously purchased the notes on CD, see the V8 website for details
of a discount for members seeking an update of an earlier CD purchased
from the V8 Register.
The original V8 Workshop Notes series has also been making
strong progress in recent months and Volume 7 is now complete taking
the series to Note 245 so for the V8 25th Anniversary 2003 we will
be into Volume 8. CDs are available with copies of Volumes 5, 6
and 7 with a working copy of Volume 8 for £10.00 (UK) and
£12.00 (overseas) - again see the V8 website for update CD
discounts. By Silverstone 2003 we should have the complete V8 Workshop
Notes series available on CD with a complete index too - the drafts
are out for checking with our proof readers now.
Peter Beadle has very kindly stepped in and taken over the
V8 Events Coordinator role from David Biddle who has sadly had to
step down for personal reasons. Peter can be contacted at arb.parts@btinternet.com
or on 01453 751731 (home) or 07977 629258 (mob).

to the workshop notes series are very welcome - just contact
