V8
Annual General Meeting 2020
With the the Covid-19 social movement
restrictions resulting in MGLive! not being held as planned at Silverstone
over the weekend of Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June 2020, our holding
the V8 AGM 2020 there at noon on the Sunday has not been possible.
An alternative online V8 AGM will be held instead, although
not a live Zoom type of meeting, with the agenda released
in the formal notice on the V8 Website together with various
reports, including the V8 Register's accounts for 2019 with
the V8 Treasurer's report, and the nominations of Members wishing
to stand for election to the V8 Committee.

Report
for the online V8 AGM 2020 from the V8 Bulletin Board Admin
The V8 Bulletin Board attracts good quality posts with useful
information which is accurate and complete. Access to the V8BB is
only available to registered V8BB users who have both registered
an MGV8 with the V8 Register and are current Members of the MG Car
Club or a recognised overseas branch or affiliate. Our aim for the
V8BB is quality rather than quantity of posts and we discourage
prattle and unpleasant posts by moderating them.
The V8BB Admin receives, screens and processes a regular flow of
applications for V8BB access and monitors the forum in case any
moderation might be required. A significant number of false applications
are received (about 2 in every 5) which require checking to verify
they are current Members. Some of the applications use clearly improbable
MG Car Club membership numbers like "1" which inevitably
raise the question whether they knew Cecil Kimber! Sadly the "freeloader"
mentality is a frequent feature of internet activity but V8BB access
is a membership benefit.
