Tartan Red 4342 - an exciting V8 Roadster
Ton Maathius in Luxembourg has built his V8 Roadster with an exciting profile and many custom features. The o
riginal MGB Roadster was a model year 1971 example, chassis GHN5-236313G, with the registration plate H8971 (L) in the body colour Pageant Blue but is now model year 1967, chassis GHN3-123258, with the very appropriate registration plate MG0008 (L). The car is now finished in the bold colour, Tartan Red.

The V8 Roadster is owned by Ton Maathuis in Luxembourg.

The vehicle has been modified in following respect:

Engine from Rover SD1 1971 serial number 10A34983 with a 10.5 compression, fast road cam and cylinder heads.
Gearbox is a 5 speed gearbox unit but has no serial number.
Holley carburettor type 5190.
Front and rear axles are standard units from the original MGB.
Front suspension standard from original MGB with negaitive camber wishbones.
Rear telescopic shock absorbers are Koni units.
Rear Hopkinson handling kit (in fact anti-roll bar).
Anti-tramp bars from the SD1.
Panhard rod (actually from an Opel Kadett).
Wheels are Ferrari F40 style, make "Image" sold by "Europa" size 8x16 with centre-lock hubs from "Motorwheel".
Tyres are Goodyear 225/45ZR16 Eagle GSD.
Body standard MGB Roadster with Sebring fibreglass wing and valence kit.
Front screen is standard MGB, lowered 8 cm with the top part of the frame cut off.
Seats Cobra Special FX also obtained from "Europa".
Brakes - rear standard MGB and front 4 pot Rover SD1 Vitesse with Peugeot 604 discs.
