Private
sale - RV8 Prototype

White ADD DEV03. This was the third Develoment Car for the
RV8 programme known as DEV3 and was the first full mechanical prototype.
Built by Rover at Cowley in 1991, this is the vehicle that was used
to evaluate the project, and based on its success senior management
gave the go ahead for RV8 production. I am the first owner after
Rover, and when purchased in 1996 the car had covered 8,400 miles.
The total mileage now is only 14,000, and has been fully maintained
during the 9 years that I have owned it and still feels new to drive.
Although mechanically identical to a production car, the driving
experience is considerably different. It feels like a well sorted
high performance sports car as opposed to the grand tourer feel
of a production RV8. This is probably why it was the project team's
favourite car! However, for an unbiased view of how good this car
is to drive, I have copies of articles carried out by Enjoying MG
and Total MG in which the editors give their own views on the driving
experience. This is an opportunity to acquire a unique car which
is both fun to drive as well as a piece of MG history. Reduced
to £12,450 (5.2.06)
