How do you book an MGoT track day?
Many Club members may not be sure about how to book one of the MGoT track days. Here's a quick reminder:

Need to register on the MGoT website
You need to be registered on the MGoT website
This is a pre-requisite. Registration is simple and does not require much in the way of personal data. We simply ask for some basic details of your car and your track day experience. This helps us to assign you to the right session if we are splitting sessions by car or experience.

Registering also ensures that you get the regular newsletter - roughly one per month - that keeps you up to date on dates and bookings. If you are an MG Car Club member, then be sure to enter your membership number as this ensures that you receive the slightly more favourable price.

If you've not already registered on the MGoT website, then please do so here.

Make sure that you are logged in
Once registered make sure that you are logged in. If you are correctly logged in you will see 'Welcome XXXX' (where XXXX is your username) in the top left-hand corner of the screen just below the MGoT logo.

Use the online booking system
Once you are logged in go to the home page and click on the 'event info' link for the event you are interested in. Once on that page scroll down to the 'Booking' heading where you should see two buttons.

One says 'Book Provisionally' and the other 'Pay now'. The provisional button is just an expression of interest and simply adds your name to the list. It does not secure a place for you. The 'Pay now' button also adds your name, but generates a booking reference number. It then sends you an email that tells you how to go about paying for the event - currently by sending a cheque to our

Treasurer. The email gives you the Treasurer's address and details of the cost of your booking.

Credit card and debit cards coming soon

I know that we keep saying this, but our webmaster has promised to add credit/debit card payments to our online booking system over Christmas. Consequently, I hope that you'll soon be able to take advantage of this method, which secures your place immediately. With cheques, the place is only secured once the cheque reaches our Treasurer and sometimes, with just a few places left for an event, this can become a race. Unfortunately, not one that you have much control over, as the Royal Mail seem to determine the winners!
