MGV8 enthusiast Frank Morand has seen the cover of the April 2026 issue of Classic & Sports Car magazine highlighting their feature article on the Factory MGBGTV8 and a Costello MGBGTV8.

The Factory production records show it went through Paint Finishing on 4th October 1974 and it was dispatched from the MG Factory in Abingdon to Newbury Motors Ltd in Shirley, Warwickshire four days later on the 8th. The last chrome bumper model (Citron 1956) was dispatched to Mann-Egerton & Co Ltd in Hitchin, Hertfordshire on 9th. Then the first rubber bumper model (Teal Blue 2101) came through Paint Finishing on 15th November and on the same day it was dispatched to BMLC Publicity at Longbridge as a pre-production press demonstrator.

Teal Blue 1948 has been registered with the V8 Database in March 2025 by Ed Talbot in Surrey. The previous registration was by Bob Charlton in Leicester in August 2008.

We have no record of the Costello MGBGTV8 with Red paintwork and the registration number LLP 265K.
