Arrochar Alps & Col de Ruisg event in Scotland

News from Tony Smith (V8 Chairman) with his MGRV8 in active use at an event arranged by the Ecosse Rallye Drivers Club in the Arrochar Alps area between Loch Long and Loch Lomond north of Glasgow.

On Saturday Tony Smith was on the Arrrochar Alps event with his co-driver Richard Jenner preparing for the 100th anniversary Monte Classique/Historique Rally next month. The Arrachor Alps and Col de Ruisg event was a daytime tour starting at noon at the Kirkhouse Inn in Strathblane with a rest halt mid afternoon at the Arrochar Inn (above) on the side of Loch Long. Then it started up again for the evening Col de Ruisg section finishing in Balloch north of Glasgow.

The Ecosse Rallye Drivers Club held the Arrochar Alps and Col de Ruisg Challenge event on Saturday 6th December 2025. It is designed to allow crews to practice their navigational skills.

Tony will be on the 2026 Monte Carlo Classique/Historique Rally which gets under way on Thursday 29th January 2026 with John O’Groats as one of six departure points for the event along with Bad Homburg in Germany, Barcelona in Spain, Turin in Italy, Reims in France and Monte Carlo itself. Link
