out on Drive it Day

MGBGTV8 out on Drive it Day in Wales.

Evans reports he rarely goes on an organised run in his MGBGTV8 preferring
to go for an early run, if the weather is good. On Drive it Day on Sunday 24th
April he took the V8 out - the photo was taken on Llangynidr Mountain in Powys.
Martin says "I was en route to my mother's home and upon arrival, she joined
me for a further short run in the car. She's never taken part in a Drive it Day
before (her MGB GT has) but she turned 85 on Friday, so why not as it's about
time!!
The V8's last Drive it Day outing was in 2010 when it joined in
with the South Wales Morris Owners' Club run. Since then, it's either been wet
or I've been to busy or I have simply used one of the other cars". | Martin
also mentioned his car has had the distinction of H.M. Queen giving way to it!!
During the V8 Register Tour of Scotland in 1993, my parents were out by themselves
in the V8 one afternoon and up ahead, on a narrow road, a Land Rover pulled into
a passing place to give them right of way. They were somewhat surprised, when
they saw who was driving the Land Rover! |
