Have petrol rretailers passed on the fuel duty and VAT cut?

Simple answer is they have kept an average of 42% or 2.51p of the 6p cut

Some supermarkets' fuel stations are reducing prices by the full 6p - for example: Tesco Extra, Baldock, High Street, SG7 6BN - 160.9p

The good news in the Spring Statement from the Chancellor on Wednesday 23rd March last week was a welcome reduction of 5p in fuel duty. That was a cut of 6p including VAT but have we seen that passed on in full on fuel retailers' forecourts? Sadly only a little over 50% of the 6p cut has been passed on by most fuel retailers which is frankly disgraceful greed and disdain for motorists.

In an online article by Sarah Tooze on the heycar website she says "the latest average fuel prices were 163.52p for petrol and 177.47 for diesel on 29th March 2022. That means petrol has reduced by 3.49p since the day of the Spring Statement and diesel has reduced by 2.43p. So the fuel retailers have kept 2.51p or 42% of the Chancellor's 6p reduction!"
