            Scottish Borders Tour 2022 Friday 9th to Monday 12th September 2022
 The next V8 Tour in the popular series will be based near Peebles 
            in the Scottish Borders.

 Don't miss this tour based near Peebles with 
            opportunities to enjoy routes in the Borders and visiting some interesting 
            places that tour organiser, Tony Smith, has planned. Bookings are 
            coming in so don't miss an enjoyable V8 Tour.
 
 The tour activities and visits will include:
 
 Friday
 Arrive at the hotel from 14:00, no earlier. There will be welcome 
            drink and canapes on the first evening and on arrival the tour packs 
            will be handed out and the Tour Organiser will explain the week's 
            activities. Dinner will follow.

 There will be trips to the Jim Clark Motorsport Museum, the Samye 
            Ling Tibetan Monastery and the town of Moffat, famous for its toffee

 No part of the event is timed and it is not a rally or a competitive 
            event. Please avoid driving in convoys as this can cause frustration 
            with other road users.

            do I join the V8 Scottish Borders Tour 2022? To enter this enjoyable tour there are two steps:
 Step 1The Tour Fee is £70 
            for Two people and a car or £40 for One person and car, 
            and is payable in advance directly to the Tour Organiser for the tour 
            pack and all the costs he will have been paid ahead of the event!Contact the Tour Organiser by email or telephone to book a place 
              on the V8 Scottish Boarders Tour 2022 then, subject to there being 
              places remaining available on the tour, the Tour Organiser will 
              reply requesting that you complete the "Booking Form" 
              and agree to pay a sum (Tour Fee) to cover the out of pocket 
              expenses he incurs on your behalf arranging entry fees to places 
              you will visit and refreshments. Return your tour Booking Form to 
              the Tour Organiser and confirm you accept the tour indemnity on 
              the "Booking Form". Upon receipt of your "Booking 
              Form" and your payment of the Tour Fee, the Tour Organiser 
              will provide you with the "Booking Code" for The 
              Barony Castle Hotel.

 What does the payment 
              to the Tour Organiser cover?The payment will cover out of pocket expenses he will incur on your 
              behalf arranging entry into some of the visitor attractions we plan 
              to visit and other items.
 Please note - do not 
              go to Step 2 and book with the hotel before you have completed Step 
              1 by contacting the Tour Organiser and checking there are spaces 
              still available. You will NOT receive the special rate agreed 
              with the hotel by the Tour Organiser without your making a booking 
              with the Tour Organiser and paying the Tour Fee when he will issue 
              a "Booking Code". Step 2Book your accommodation directly with the hotel and pay the hotel 
              deposit. You pay the hotel directly. Only by using the "Booking 
              Code" issued to you by the Tour Organiser will you be able 
              to obtain the special hotel rate.

            Barony Castle Hotel at Eddleston in the Scottish Borders It is a castle built in 1536 and has 4 stars and is close to the town 
            of Peebles. Tour Organiser Tony Smith says "I have stayed there 
            recently and it is very comfortable".
 
 Private Dining will be provided 
            every evening and included in the Tour Fee will be house wine or soft 
            drinks each evening
 
 Booking accommodation direct with the hotel - you will need 
            to quote the "Booking Code" which will be issued to you 
            by the Tour Organiser when you make a booking with him and pay the 
            Tour Fee. That will enable you to secure the special rate. The hotel 
            staff will ask for the code without which there will be no special 
            room rate. A deposit of at least £50 is payable to the hotel 
            on booking.
 
 Special Hotel Rates:
 Classic Double/Twins at £400 for 3 nights DB&B
 Classic Singles - £300 for 3 nights DB&B
 Superior rooms can be booked if available at £40 per room per 
            night extra.
 
 You will be asked for a deposit of £50 on booking and 
            the balance will be taken two weeks prior to the Tour.
 
 Any special dietary requirements need to be agreed with the

 Lorraine Noble-Thompson 
            has "heard from Doug Niven has confirmed he will be the keynote 
            speaker at the V8 Scottish Borders Tour 2022 on the Saturday. Hes 
            Jim Clarks cousin and has lovely stories. He will also meet 
            the tour members when they visit the Jim Clark Motorsport Museum on 
            the Sunday to show us around".
