Gavin
Bailey has sent in a copy of an article in the August 2021 issue
of one of his Land Rover magazines mentioning one their subscribers,
who sells mainly secondhand parts on eBay, recently received
an email from eBay which stated "if you are selling secondhand
parts you will need to display your environmental permit numbers
in your listing so buyers know you are complying with the Environmental
Permitting Regulations for storing and dismantling end of life
vehicles or ELVs". Gavin feels it will affect people who
sell mainly used vehicle parts but it may also impact both commercial
and private vendors of used MG parts.
The UK Government website covering this matter is
here & here
.
The article mentions a used parts seller who says "we do
not dismantle vehicles - we just sell parts we have bought or
obtained from vehicles we have broken many years ago. Our problem
is there is no way we can produce documentation for parts off
vehicles that were dismantled over 30 years ago".
