Third year MGLive! will not be held - so let's look forward to 2022

The news that MGLive! planned for June 2021 has been postponed until 2022 is not unexpected but is still disappointing for so many V8 enthusiasts who enjoy the Club's major annual two day event. It has always been a good opportunity for V8 enthusiasts to meet up, not least in the large V8 Marquee we have had there for many years.

Let's look forward to MGLive! 2022.

V8 Kent Tour 2021
With continuing Covid guidelines on unnecessary travel and social distancing in the second half of 2020, the V8 Kent Tour planned by Ian Quarrington for September 2020 was postponed to 2021. As an update Ian says the arrangements for the V8 Kent Tour are in place for September 2021 and we hope, with the successful roll out of the vaccine programme in the UK, social movement and holidays in England will be possible again by August or September. He is very hopeful the tour will go ahead but clearly the Covid pandemic situation is the key deciding factor. But Ian remains positive.

Sad but not unexpected news for MGLive! 2021
The MG Car Club has announced with regret that MGLive! due to be held in June 2021 has been postponed until 2022 and that all ticket money being held for attendees from last year (2020) will now be refunded in full. This is the third year the Club's major annual event will have not been held. Many V8 enthusiasts and friends will miss dropping into the V8 Marquee to enjoy refreshments and home-made cakes and rest up with plenty of tables and chairs there. It's always been a V8 meeting place. Let's look forward to 2022.


MGLive! takes another rest for 2020

Following the announcements made by the Prime Minister alongside the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Scientific Advisor yesterday with recommended constraints over mass events, sadly the Club's major annual event, MGLive!, had to be postponed. With continuing Covid guidelines on unnecessary travel and social distancing the planned annual V8 Tour to Kent planned by Ian Quarrington for September 2021 was also postponed to 2021.
MGLive! takes a rest in 2019
An announcement from the MG Car Club today says "The MG Car Club is devastated to announce that the decision has been made to rest MGLive! for 2019, and refocus efforts into a new format International MG meeting for 2020". More

Last month, Silverstone Circuits Limited made a decision to carry out essential track maintenance during June 2019, meaning that MGLive! was not able to take place at the venue on the selected dates, leaving the Club without a venue or date for MGLive! 2019.

Memories of the V8 Lincolnshire Tour in 2019
With the news of the postponement of MGLive! 2021 in June, Richard Worthington sent in some photos of a "memorable" V8 Tour that many V8 enthusiasts enjoyed. Richard's arrangements for the tour demonstrated clearly that " Lincolnshire is neither flat nor boring!" Alongside is the line up of the tour group outside the base hotel.
