Sadly
we have heard from Martin Evans that his father David Evans
has passed away. Martin says his father had been in touch with
the V8 Register numerous times over many years when YJT 601N
was in his care. "He took it on the V8 Tour of the Highlands
in 1993, an excellent event, expertly organised by the late
Ron Armstrong".
Martin says "my father's first car, a red MGA 1500, was
bought new towards the end of his National Service. Since then
he had a Frazer Nash Le Mans Replica, a Lotus 7, Lotus Elan
Sprint, a Downton tuned Mini (Pre Cooper), Mk1 VW Scirocco Storm
and some more "ordinary" cars. Of all of them, YJT
601N (Bracken 1773) was his favourite. It is a bit faster than
the first one and has a higher standard of trim and stronger
transmission, with Quaife diff". |
