Volunteers
needed for the V8 Marquee at the MG 90 event at Gaydon
Saturday
10th October 2020
As we have arranged
a V8 Committee meeting in a room in the Gaydon Motor Museum for a
couple of hours in the morning of the Club's MG 90 event on Saturday
10th October 2020, we need a couple of volunteers to cover the
V8 Marquee. The V8 Marquee will be with other Registers' marquees
alongside the Club marquee, with a display of three MGV8s in front.

Extract
from the latest CRB Bulletin released by Club Office
In the latest bulletin released by Club Office to Centres,
Registers and Branches of the Club there is news of the plans
for the MG 90 event at Gaydon on Saturday 10th October 2020.
The bulletin says:
MG Car Club 90th Anniversary Social
We are continually in discussions with the British Motor Museum
(BMM) about our 90th Anniversary Social on Saturday 10th October.
Even with the latest change in Government guidance, the Museum
have confirmed that our event is still able to go ahead so we
are continuing to work on plans for it. Obviously, this is subject
to the Government advice not changing between now and the event.
Should the event have to be cancelled, all ticket holders will
receive an automatic refund from the BMM.
The Museum is a COVID secure venue and has all the necessary
procedures and plans in place to enable them to host events.
Full details of the measures in place can be found here.

The Museum will be monitoring social distancing and the
'Rule of Six' but we will also have Club representatives monitoring
this too. Face coverings will need to be worn inside the Museum
and we would advise also wearing them if visiting the Club marquee
or other CRB marquees. Catering and toilets can be found inside
the Museum. There is also a small toilet block outside, but
we are waiting on confirmation that this will be open. There
may be a small catering unit outside of the Museum but that
will depend on the number of attendees.
After the latest Government announcement, we have since amended
some of our plans and have decided not to have an arena. However,
our plans for CRBs still remain. If you wish to bring your CRB
marquee to display next to the Club marquee on the grass area
outside the museum, let Lauran know. We are working on providing
space for your CRB marquee plus up to 3 display cars in front
of the marquee. If you don't have a marquee but would like
to still display some cars, then please let Lauran know and
we'll try and work it into the plans. We have a site visit within
the next week to discuss plans and layouts with the Show Manager
at the Museum so we will have a much clearer idea after this
visit about what we can accommodate.
[The
V8 Register is confirming we wish to have a V8 Marquee at MG
90].
Unlike MGLive! there
will not be Register Parking, instead we will be parking
cars as they arrive so we can showcase the full variety
of cars and members in the Club. We have also decided against
having any traders attending. As we are celebrating the Club's
90th Anniversary, we have chosen to focus on the Club and our
Centres, Registers and members for this event.
Tickets for
the event appear to be selling well all things considered. Tickets
remain on sale until the 9th October and we'll continue to promote
the event until that point.
Note: tickets must be purchased in advance of the event
