Scrappage
schemes to encourage new car sales
While the UK Government isnt running an official car scrappage
scheme any more, there are plenty of manufacturers that are including
Kia, Lexus, Mazda, MG, Toyota and Renault, are offering.
What
are other manufacturers offering?

With
the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders reported
as "bitterly disappointed" the Chancellor of
the Exchequer did not include any specific measures for
a UK scrappage scheme in his recent Summer Statement to
help the sector recover, various manufacturers have their
own schemes. With MG they have a "swappage scheme"
which sound much less brutal as there are real concerns
that many classic cars, including many cars from the 1980s
and 90s reaching classic status, could be lost to scrappage. |
