V8
AGM 2020 postponed
The V8 AGM is usually held on Sunday at noon in the V8 Marquee
at the Club's annual MGLive! meeting so as many members as possible
are able to attend whilst also at the event of the year at Silverstone.
Because of the concerns over mass gatherings during the current
period of pestilence, MGLive! 2020 has been postponed by the
Club to comply with the Government's requirements so our AGM
has also been postponed. With fellow V8 Committee members we
have been considering how best to hold a V8 AGM later in the
year when hopefully physical meetings are possible again and
a suitable Club event or other venue for the V8 AGM can be found
and proper notice of the V8 AGM can be
given to fellow V8 members.
We have
just received an announcement from Bill Silcock (Club Chairman)
with information and guidance for the Club's Centres, Registers
and Branches (CRBs) regarding physical meetings like AGMs, the
election of officers, routine decision making and other Club
matters and formalities. In summary:
* Physical
meetings are cancelled and email and virtual CRB procedures
recommended until the Government's Coronavirus restrictions
are lifted.
* CRB
elections are suspended
and the current post holders may remain in post until six months
after the Government's Coronavirus restrictions have been lifted.
* Routine
decision making
by virtual means or conference phone is recommended for CRBs.
